New Halfar logistics centre

After a ten month construction period, the new Halfar logistics centre was completed in August. The substantial hall, which measures 7,100 square metres, was built seven kilometres away from the Halfar head office, whose capacities could not be extended any further. With the new logistics centre, Halfar has future-proofed itself for the company’s further development and has ensured guaranteed permanent supply availability with more extensive on-site stocks and an increasingly wider range of products.

In future, the warehousing and dispatch processes will be centralised at the new, modern logistics centre, which offers room for 11,300 pallets and is equipped with induction controlled narrow aisle reach trucks.

Efficiency and sustainability are part of Halfar’s corporate philosophy. The new external warehouse also reflects this. It is also equipped with a 70kWh photovoltaic system, charging stations for electric vehicles, an eco-friendly gas heating system and LED lights with motion sensors. The insulation also exceeds the legally specified standard. Halfar also uses the open areas in the logistics centre grounds effectively to create habitats for rare plants and insects in order to thereby compensate for the built-up spaces.
