Sustainability at FARE: Responsibility for people and the environment

Award as ÖKOPROFIT® company 2021
ÖKOPROFIT is a cooperation project supported by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, involving major cities and Chambers of Industry and Commerce of the Bergisches Land region.

FARE participated in the 11th project round alongside eight other companies. During the 12-months project duration, a certified consultant visited the company and, through intensive discussions with employees, assessed where process improvements could be implemented within business operations. Various workshops covered topics such as electricity consumption, heating, lighting, as well as occupational safety.

The aim is to combine economic efficiency with environmental sustainability to contribute positively to environmental protection, and lower operational expenses.

ISO 9001 certification 2024
A sustainable quality management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001 ensures a consistently high quality of products and services. This applies to companies and organisations of all sizes, sectors and industries. With an ISO 9001 certification, a company demonstrates effective management of its processes, verified by an independent third party. Following intensive preparation, our subsidiary FARE successfully passed its first certification audit and has been awarded ISO 9001:2015 certification by DQS! This certification once again establishes FARE as an innovator, showing courage to explore new approaches in the promotional products market.

This project at FARE had a long lead-up, and a successful conclusion was by no means a given: initial considerations began as early as 2018, then the COVID-19 pandemic and staff changes delayed progress. Despite these challenges, FARE continued to develop. Both the internal and external auditors were highly impressed by the results of the long and intensive preparations, the effectiveness of the measures, and, above all, the team’s strong collaboration.
Looking back, the certification is the well-earned reward for hard work, discussions, reflections, and changes in work methods and processes.

On 25th July, Sebastian Hahn and Tanja Rickert, who led the project, presented the certificate to the FARE team.
